What is F1, F1B and F3 (Multi Generation)?
F1 Goldendoodles:
Basically what that means is they are 50% Standard Poodle and 50% Golden Retriever. Though they shed less than most breeds they do shed some. First generation Goldendoodles have a 50% chance to be more like the Poodle and have low to no shedding, curly or wavy coat and a 50% chance they will be more like the Golden Retreiver and have a sleek shiny, shedding coat.
F1B Goldendoodle:
75% Standard Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever.
Second generation have wavier, curlier coats and are low to non-shedding, making them great for most allergy sufferers!
F3 (Multi Generation) Goldendoodle
F1B X F1b or F1b X Poodle:
Consistently non-shedding with wavy/curly fleece coats, making them excellent for allergy sufferers.
F1 = Golden Retriever x Poodle
F1b = F1 Goldendoodle x Poodle
F2 = F1 Goldendoodle x F1 Goldendoodle
F2b = F1b Goldendoodle x F1 Goldendoodle
F3 = F1b Goldendoodle x F1b Goldendoodle or F2 Goldendoodle x F2 Goldendoodle
Multigen = Any Goldendoodle breeding consisting of F3 or higher dogs.
F1b puppies are still considered 1st generation pups.
